Dusk252's AMV Creations

Postby Dusk252 » Thu Mar 08, 2012 10:57 am

Seriously guys, what's up with the lack of an AMV thread here?! Well, maybe that's a good thing, since I'll build one just for me. XP That said, welcome to my AMV Atlier!

Anyway, I've recently realized just how hard it is to get a good amount of views on my AMVs with being a quite recent editor and all, unless they're from recently finished anime. Therefore, from now on, I'm gonna use this thread for some shameless self-publicizing. I'd also appreciate some feedback and opinions from you^^ Help me improve!

This first post will be edited with each new AMV for easier browsing.
The AMVs are ordered by date of completion, from most recent, to older.

Only watched the Haruhi video, since I haven't watched much of PMMM, and found it fittingly good. Not a big fan of instrumentals, but the video timed well to the music.

I have a lot of suggestions I could make, but I don't know if you're interested in the animes I imagine them used with. I have a lot of HnG videos I have the music for, don't know if there's good scenes in animation for them, most of the ideas come from the manga there, or the characters themselves with no pictoral backup.

I had made a suggestion of Count On Me for Toradora and Hayate previously and don't know if that was ever carried out.
Spoiler:
For some reason there's a lot of flashing lights at the beginning

And South Pacific's Ain't Nothin' Like a Dame is practically begging for an AMV to be made with many harem masters of anime, and the song's in 4-part male harmony, so there's plenty of room for mashup's of all styles to happen there.
Spoiler:

Was listening to my music this morning and Best Damn Thing by Avril Lavigne came on and I started chuckling, Miu of Papakiki actually made a lot of refrences to the 'Cinderella Story' in episode 9, and Nimura is a playboy, so it fit perfectly. I'll see if I can write up a script to hand off to you if you're interested.

Well, the PMMM one is not with an instrumental song. (I'm a huge fan of instrumentals though xD) You did well in not watching it if you haven't finished the anime though. It does have some spoilers.

I thank you for your suggestions, but they really aren't my type of anime to be honest. In fact, I haven't even watched Hayate (I'm not a fan of harem or romantic comedies, and besides To-Love Ru - which I rated 3/10 - I've never watched one longer than 13 episodes) nor am I watching Papakiki. Though I may consider using Toradora! with Count On Me, since it does seem to fit quite nicely. I also really like The Best Damn Thing but I'm not sure how I could edit to it. I may give it a try after I finish my project line-up and I'll try watching Papakiki in the meantime, then I'll decide whether I'm interested.

Thanks for the suggestions, really^^

I think you'd like Hayate, as long as you have lots of animes under your belt, it's more of a parody style than anything else (even harem is rather understated though romance is a large part of the second season), and I'm pretty sure you'd enjoy Papakiki just because it's a great story.

Count On Me was actually hard to locate a video for, there are other songs by the same name, and Hayate has some similar aspects to Toradora in that respect (though I think they're really more of implied rather than clear-cut in the manga).
'Dame' would work for any guy with more than one love interest really, but the possibilities are endless for ideas (I'd bet even Kyon could sing in it without too much stretching).

I'm one of those, supposedly, rare guys who likes the romance aspects so I'm not sure I'll be able to help much, but I'll try to give some more ideas if I can come up with any. Had another song idea, but can't find it anywhere, so I deleted it from the previous post.

Since i have no experience in making AMV's whatsoever, I don't really have any advice i can give you...
But as a viewer, I really enjoyed the PMMM mv. I think you timed everything really well.
For some reason, i found the Haruhi one to be kinda funny, mostly because of Kyon's facial expressions xD
