That just defeats the whole purpose of "voting" since not all the voters' opinions will be accounted for.
Also, you can't blame a country/region for for having more people or for not liking your favourite(s). :/

sir, i'm just kidding sir :P

We could try a system similar to the Electoral College system voting system in the US. Divide the world in regions with point values. Whichever character get 50%+1 votes in a region gets all the points from the region. The character with the most points at the end of the day wins. This would give underrepresented regions more of a say in the results.

Wouldn't that give smaller regions even less of an influence? Currently, if China is 51-49 on a character, a more concentrated support from, say, Africa can still make a difference. Following the electoral system, if China's 51-49 becomes 100-0, even ten Africas opposition might not matter.

It depends how you set the points for each region. If say Africa is worth 3 points and China is worth 10, you would only need around 3 regions on Africa's level to oppose China. Also there are scenarios where China is 70-30 in favour of a character which would be tough to beat normally.

The Chinese anime fans, as far as I know, tend to campaign very hard when it comes to matches. So if you want to keep up with their influence, campaign harder.

I don't think an electoral college style would work. Like...you'd basically have to guestimate the anime viewing population of each region...Coz, I don't think you can base it on raw population, otherwise, China, Mid-East India and Africa would each be worth 1/6 of the total points roughly, and anybody who can sweep those three regions wins everytime. The entire Americas would only be worth like 1/6 to 1/4, combined

Also, I disagree with China always being considered what's wrong the world. In another way, maybe it's the world that's wrong and China right. =P

Nah, they'll just find some countries which made their fave lose. China is the big influence on this but I think that some countries might be blamed as well. They just got beat into it.

Using the electoral ballot is a BAD idea, because how can we represent which part gives how many votes? People from NA will want to have bigger say, but there are a lot of voters coming from SEA block, China block, Korea and Japan block. Europe has quite a big number of voters too. Sticking to the current format is the best way.

Usually, mainland China is not to blame, because they do support Homura and Menma who people want to win. Note Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, and how they vote.

And yes ISML will be open to everyone.

This butthurting and witchhunting is seriously starting to get a bit stale as the match progresses. Seriously you guys are starting to take things a bit too personal lately.

And what's with the rise in unhealthy obsession over fecal matter lately?

I'm not being all that serious with the "Electoral College" suggestion. I like witches after all. =D

Now that's an intriguing trivia question.

Throw a partial result out there from a region and ask people which one it's from, in lieu of actuals until the deadline hits. @_@
