Your 2011 Nomination Plan

III. Nomination Period
A. The Nomination Period will last seven (7) days.
B. Character eligibility will be checked according to Article III of the Constitution with one additional condition: Character data occurring after the start of the Nomination Period will not be considered.
C. Voters may nominate up to twelve (12) characters.
D. Voters must nominate at least four (4) characters.
E. Voters must nominate from at least three (3) anime series.
F. Nominated characters must be unique.
G. Invalid nominations will be discarded individually and will not void the entire ballot unless the discards result in a violation of rules C, D, or E.
H. At the end of the Nomination Period, eligible characters with the most points will become Candidates and advance to the Preliminary Period until the allotted slots are filled.
1. The number of allotted slots is one hundred forty-four (144) minus the number of automatic entries as defined in Rule I.
2. The Staff will resolve any ties that occur in the last available slot(s). Priority consideration shall be given, if applicable, to those characters who were not selected in ISML 2010.

So who are you planning to nominate and why?

1) Kirino Kousaka (Oreimo) --> I think she's one of the best Imouto ever. She can be a great competitor and can compete at equal strength with some popular character.
2) Poplar (WORKING!!) --> I'm voting for her moeness when somebody teasing her about her height xD
3) Ika-Musume --> she's very endearing and simple-minded but that's her strength (I think). She also gain some popularity among certain of us here so I think she has her place for ISML !

Those three are my priorities for the moment. I have to think for other character...

Durarara
Celty Sturluson: Surprised she's not an auto-qualifier.

Hayate no Gotoku
Ayumu Nishizawa: Got some great scenes recently in the manga, so hopefully she'll have enough support to arrive in the regular season.
Izumi Segawa: The most moe character of HnG by Hata's own supplementary materials.

Kaichou wa Maid-sama
Misaki Ayuzawa: Hard working, nice character to look up to (more famous than HnG's form of the same character).

Fullmetal Alchemist
Lan Fan: Badass + Moe.
Winry Rockbell: She seemed to do decently when she did perform, so maybe?

To Love-Ru
Yui Kotegawa: Definite contender, even with only the released stuff. If Darkness gets an adaption, she'll likely get plenty of votes.
Mikan Yuuki: She's cute. *shrug*
Konjiki no Yami: Good chance of making it into the 16 this year because she's a main character in the manga continuation (maybe not until the next anime comes out though).

I'm not sure because I must still discover the girls of this season.
I won't try to nominate characters that have no chance at all to make it like last year, I think I'll mainly nominate new characters that couldn't be in ISML last year.

Among the old ones, I may nominate :
Tsuruya (Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu), because she's my all-time favorite.
Ayumu Nishizawa (Hayate no Gotoku!), but she didn't get new anime material since last year, so I might drop her.
Nymph (Sora no Otoshimono), second season may boost her chances.
Haruna Sairenji (To Love-Ru), same as Nymph, but less sure ^^
Ryou Fujibayashi (Clannad)
Suiseiseki (Rozen Maiden)

Among the new ones :
Kuroneko (Ore no Imouto), she's my favourite character of the show and I think she can make it to the tournament. I like especially her strange behaviour.
Kanon Nakagawa (Kami Nomi), my favourite before I read the manga (now it's Haqua ^^). Her arc was very well done and with Elsea, she might be able to make it. She has so many personalities and I like all of them ^^ She looks very cute too.
Ai Nanasaki (Amagami SS), her arc wasn't that good but she still was the one I liked the most.
Yuuno Arashiko (MM!), the show wasn't especially good, but I liked the characters, especially her. Mio would be cool too.
Inami Miharu (Working!!), with Yuuno they'd make a good pairing ^^ (both are androphobic)

That makes 10, I still have some place and I'll probably make some changes...

Arcion , I saw your sitemail. Sorry, but K-On and Sora no Woto are made by different studio with different back ground. Simply put, K-On characters and Sora no Woto characters have different history, different background, and shares no memory, thus cannot be considered as same character despite some superficial resemblance . We have already considered Eve from Black Cat and Yami from ToLoveRu as different character even though these two have much stronger claim to be de facto same character. Thus Sora no Woto characters should be considered as separate characters compared to K-On characters.

The only difference between the characters is the settings, one is a modern school, one is a post-apocalyptic world.
All through Sora, I was realizing that the characters of K-On would act exactly the same in the same situations, including Mio and Rio. Several of the situations were rather close to being copies of each other between the two series.
There is no difference in voting for Yui of K-On and voting for Kanata (their MAL profiles even make them sound the same). If there were even slight differences in their characters and personalities, I wouldn't have an issue with it, but there isn't

If you really want to look at it like that, most characters we have now are just expies of older characters and are shaped differently by their interactions, this has been going on for ages. Sora and K-On has the same set of characters and the same set of character frames set around them, letting them grow no differently between them.

Yami and Eve started out as the same characters, but Yami is also still growing, To Love-Ru is currently putting out a manga with Yami as one of the main characters. Currently it quite earns it's rating of 'mature' but Yami's plotline is clearly focused in seriousness.

Firstly, I don't think Sora no Woto is the same as K-ON. Though the theme of the two shows are music, the style of the two shows are totally different. The scene of Sora no Woto is in a border fort, while K-ON's is mostly in the school. So the outlook of the two shows is different. The details of lives of the two shows is also different. K-ON gives me the beschwingt(Deutsch) sense, while Sora no Woto gives me a soberer feeling. Besides, the style of the music of the two shows are different at all. The style of Sora no Woto is lyric orchestral music, while K-ON's is modern electromusic.The Amazing Grace is such a fair-sounding song! As a conclusion, I won't regard Sora no Woto as the same as K-ON.

Then I also don't think Sorami Kanata is the same as Hirasawa Yui. I won't point out the difference of the appearance of the two girls since that's not the point. But the personality of the two girls is not really the same. Though you may say both of the girls are open-minded, naive, or optimistic, I think Yui behaves too deliberately(cause of her character setting) and Kanata behaves more naturally. I don't mean Yui is not cute, but I just feel Yui gives me an unnatural sense. So if it's in the situation that asking me to make a choice between the two girls, I'll choose Kanata with no hesitation.


Oh, by the way, I still have no certain plan of my nomination list. I think many of the characters I like is not lacking my single vote, so it's probably that I will nominate some unpopular characters in the end. Though most of them may not manage to the preliminaries or regular season, I still want to add some unpopular faces to the preliminaries. I think it won't be a bad idea.
