Banners for ISML 2011

We have a rotating banner system at the top of the ISML pages. You can help contribute to it!

• Dimensions are 988x140 pixels.
• Must have the phrase "International Saimoe League 2011" on it.
• Must have the official ISML logo.
• No ISML Competitors' whole faces are allowed in the banners.*
• Keep these relatively abstract, neutral, and anonymous.
• Additional text, like a quote, is not recommended.
• Don't put things in the immediate corners of the banners, because the corners will be cut off by the rounding feature in Mozilla browsers.**

* All of 2009/2010's banners either did not prominently feature an anime character or had no characters at all. I think this is a great theme and motif we should continue. Several of the banners for 2010 show a character's body and the face just from the mouth or nose down. This keeps them relatively anonymous and appropriate. We don't want to be promoting any particular character or group of characters in the tournament.
** If you use Firefox, you know what I mean. The cropping is done by the browser, because if you view ISML in Internet Explorer or another browser, the corners will still be there. I just don't want any of your text to get cut off.

The fonts used are "Segoe Print" and "Brush Script Std."

Not every submission will be accepted, but all contributors should do their very best! ^_^

There are no other specific required themes but one idea is to consider the colors of the necklace periods in your designs. (I will rotate the banners all year round, though.)

Aside from banners, you can also submit buttons and mini-banners that are appropriately sized for blogs or social sites like MyAnimeList. We would like to promote ISML in any way we can.

The mini-banners look good. I'll put the 200x50 ones on the blog right away; will post the larger ones a little later after the survey ends.

Miyuri, a suggestion: maybe try to blend the text in with the background a little more? The colors seem to clash to me. I've put 3 and 4 on the site, though; thank you for your work.

Hello there^^
I've been voting for one year and something now but I never really felt like getting involved in the community. That is, until today. I don't know why but I just saw this thread and as I was in "Photoshop mood" I thought: "Well, why not? Let's join and make my first post useful."

I'm not an expert in this but I hope the banners are good enough to be used (and that I'm not late posting them). Here they are:

Thank you for the continued submissions. ^_^ We've got about 20 in the rotation now, which is wonderful. But it also means I can start to get a little picky.

Dusk252, it's a great first post. I like the top one the best. The rest are all very creative, but the choice of font isn't speaking as well to me. I think after all the submissions so far, I realized that I prefer something more subtle and legible. For example, in 2 and 3 I find the lettering a little too small. And the digital-looking font for "2011" doesn't match very well? Hm. 4 is nice with a kind of pop theme, but "international" is difficult to see, and "saimoe league" looks smushed together (can't see the inner lines of the M, for instance). For 5, let's try giving the text the same red color throughout. Again, thank you for your work; I'm excited about these. The backgrounds are particularly nice.
